More than 45 people attended the “Public Presentation of the Territorial Program +SOLO +VIDA and Synergic Initiatives” that took place on October 3rd, at Pavilhão Multiusos de Mértola.
Those present revealed the concern in regenerating soil, retaining water and conserving biodiversity on their farms.
This was an opportunity to make known this recent project to combat desertification, which covers 94 hectares in Vale do Guadiana Natural Park, and to invite interested farmers to participate.
At the same time, other synergetic initiatives for the adaptation of cork oak forest (Montado) to climate change and for enhancing the environmental services of ecosystems were presented, with the participation of Teresa Pinto-Correia (MED – University of Évora) and Ana Cristina Cardoso (Institute for Nature Conservation and Forests).
