A RTP visitou, em maio de 2023, as ações de reflorestação e de conservação do solo, mas também de restauro dos recursos hídricos e promoção da biodiversidade, implementadas pelo Programa Territorial +SOLO +VIDA.
Em entrevista à jornalista Teresa Marques da RTP, Maria Bastidas, a coordenadora do Programa Territorial +SOLO +VIDA e técnica da ADPM Mértola, explicou as vantagens da plantação de bosquetes na promoção de biodiversidade e no aumento das espécies auxiliares e polinizadores.
Adicionalmente, a notícia realçou a importância desta medida (inserida no conjunto de 10 Boas Práticas Agrosilvopecuárias) na retenção de água e na conservação do solo, especialmente no atual contexto de seca.
Referenciou-se, ainda, o Programa EEA Grants Portugal que co-financia este projeto em curso nos concelhos de Mértola e Serpa, territórios inseridos no Parque Natural do Vale do Guadiana
> As filmagens decorreram na Herdade dos Lagos, uma das 18 áreas-piloto onde estão a ser implementadas as boas práticas de combate à desertificação e de mitigação às alterações climáticas.
